Constitutional referendum in Kazakhstan comes under the Jordanian media spotlight

On May 31, 2022, at the Embassy  of Kazakhstan in Amman in the run-up to the nationwide referendum on amending the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan a briefing for representatives of the Jordanian leading media resources, including the Petra news agency, Roya News channel and Al-Anbar newspaper, was organized.

The participants of the event were briefed in detail about the upcoming plebiscite, the current electoral system of Kazakhstan, as well as the implementation of comprehensive reforms aimed at modernizing the political and economic systems, as well as strengthening democratic institutions in the country. As part of this briefing, it was also noted that the introduction of changes and amendments to the Constitution of the country is an important step in the construction of the “New Kazakhstan” announced by the President K. Tokayev.

In turn, the media representatives highly appreciated the ongoing structural reforms in Kazakhstan and expressed their hope that the upcoming changes will bring Kazakhstan to a new level of development.
