Opening of the office branch of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Singapore in Almaty

On October 24, 2024, Ambassador-at-Large - Head of the Representative Office of the MFA of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Zh. Abdrashov, delivered a welcoming speech at the opening ceremony of the branch office of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Singapore in Almaty.

The Ambassador of Singapore to Kazakhstan, Z. Baharudin, and Honorary Consul of Singapore in Kazakhstan T. Chinikeyev, also delivered a welcoming speech. The opening was attended by Consuls General of foreign states, Honorary Consuls, citizens of Singapore living in Kazakhstan, and representatives of the business community.

In his speech, the Head of the Representative Office noted that the visit of the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Singapore in May 2024 was an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations. He also noted the importance of opening an Honorary Consulate for Kazakhstan to strengthen cultural, economic and consular ties between our countries.
