The Embassy of Kazakhstan Participated in a Charity Bazaar in Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa – The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ethiopia took part in the annual international charity bazaar organised by the Association of Diplomatic Spouses in Ethiopia. More than 50 embassies, as well as a number of Ethiopian charitable and non-governmental organisations, participated in the bazaar.

Visitors to the bazaar offered traditional Kazakh cuisine prepared by the spouses of Embassy staff. Among the most popular dishes were baursak, chak-chak, pilaf, manty, and Kazakh chocolate.

The Kazakh stand featured a traditional yurt, creating an authentic and ethnic atmosphere. Visitors were keen to explore Kazakh household items, national clothing, and souvenirs.

As part of the concert programme, Embassy staff performed well-known traditional Kazakh musical pieces, kyuis, on the dombra. The dombra and yurt, as significant elements of Kazakhstan's cultural heritage, have been included in UNESCO's List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

During the event, the «Born Bold» campaign was also presented, positioning the country as a bold and attractive destination for global business, investment, and cultural exchange.

Visitors to the bazaar were impressed by the cultural heritage and culinary art of Kazakhstan presented by the Embassy. All proceeds from the bazaar donated to Ethiopia’s charitable fund to support social projects in the country.
