Strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation with Ethiopia

ADDIS ABABA,  July 31, 2021 – At the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Ethiopia a film by Kazakh producer Rustem Abdrashev "A Gift to Stalin" was shown within the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the development of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, as well as in the context of the UN General Assembly Resolution on the announcement of 2013-2022 "Decade of rapprochement of cultures" initiated by Kazakhstan.

In his opening remarks Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ethiopia Barlybay Sadykov noted the importance of the 30th anniversary of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the main milestones in its development, acquainted the participants with the initiatives of the First President of Kazakhstan - Elbasy N.Nazarbayev and of the President of Kazakhstan K.Tokayev in the field of culture, including the content of the article of the Head of State "Seven Facets of the Great Steppe" and the "Rouhani Zhangyru" Program, as well as with current political reforms in the country.

The event was organized pursuing a goal of familiarizing the Ethiopian public with the achievements and culture of Kazakhstan, the former’s involvement in the development of multifaceted relations between the two countries and peoples.

A photo exhibition dedicated to the achievements of Kazakhstan during the years of Independence was also presented to the guests.

Representatives of the Ethiopian public highly commended Kazakhstan's achievements in socio-economic and political development, Kazakhstan's initiatives in the international arena to strengthen security and stability, primarily in the field of nuclear disarmament, non-proliferation, dialogue of cultures and religions.

As a result of the discussions, it was decided to establish a "Club of Friends of Kazakhstan" on the basis of the Center of Kazakh Culture at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ethiopia.
