Measures to improve trade and economic cooperation were discussed in Ethiopia.

Addis-Ababa, November 20, 2020 - Ambassador of the Republic of
Kazakhstan Barlybay Sadykov, met with Minister of Trade and Industry of the
Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Mr. Melaku Alebela.
During the meeting, Ambassador B.Sadykov informed about the economic
reforms carried out by the Government of Kazakhstan, measures to mitigate the
consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and implementation of social programs
outlined in the State of the Nation Address by the Head of State K.Tokayev.
B.Sadykov informed on the policy of Kazakhstan to diversify export
potential and attract foreign investments, functioning of Astana International
Financial Center.
In turn, Minister Melaku Alebela pointed out to the interest of Ethiopia to
increase trade and economic and investment cooperation with Kazakhstan and
underlined existing huge potential for such cooperation.
Following on from the results of the meeting, an agreement was reached to
take joint measures to increase cooperation, including, by holding business-forum
in 2021.
