Report on the work of the migration department for 2024
The population of the region as of January 1, 2024 was 785.5 thousand people, including 357.6 thousand people (45.5%) - urban residents, 427.9 thousand people (54.5%) - rural residents .
The migration balance is positive and amounted to 2,200 people (in January-November 2022 - 2,425 people), including in external migration - 3,241 (2,975), in internal migration - -1,041 people (-550 people).
From 1992 to the present, 36.3 families or 142,376 people from countries far and near abroad have moved to the Mangistau region for permanent residence.
Most ethnic Kazakhs moved from the Republic of Uzbekistan (51.6%), from the Republic of Turkmenistan (43.4%), from the Islamic Republic of Iran (1.7%), from the Russian Federation (2.0%).
At the end of 2023, 309 families or 2058 people received candas status in the region and this figure, compared to the corresponding period in 2022, decreased by 1321 people (in 2022 - 513 families 3379 people).
