There are 183 general education schools in Mangistau region, including 144 day public schools (123 in Kazakh, 5 in Russian, 16 in mixed languages), 4 evening, 30 private, 5 correctional schools.

The increase in the number of children according to the natural growth rate in Mangistau region is one of the highest indicators in the country, and it is among the regions with a high flow of migrants.

In the last 5 years, the number of students in schools increased from 137 thousand to 175 thousand children (increased by 38 thousand children).

In the new academic year, 20,100 students were admitted to the 1st grade in the region (18,550 in 2021-2022).

At the end of the 2021-2022 academic year, 18 three-shift schools with a contingent of 35,000 children worked in the region.

Within the framework of the project "Complex plan of socio-economic development of Mangistau region for 2021-2025" in the new academic year, 1 state school with 1200 seats in Aktau city, 2 schools with 624 seats in Beineu district were commissioned with additional buildings with separate buildings.

In addition, in the last two years, 19 private schools were opened in the region (in 2021 - 7 with 2110 seats, in 2022 - 12 with 4620 seats). The construction of a 600-seat state school in Munayly district is being completed (commissioning date - November 2022).

This year, 2 three-shift schools were dissolved in Beineu district. Despite this, due to the unplanned increase in the number of children in the region, 2 more schools of the city were transferred to three-shift teaching, and the problem in this direction remains unchanged (18 schools).

In the region, 2 schools were recognized as dangerous: in the city of Zhanaozen - primary school No. 16 and in the Beineu district "Sam school-kindergarten complex".

Construction of 44 educational facilities until 2025 is planned within the framework of the "Comfortable school" project in order to eliminate three-shift, dilapidated and overcrowded schools.

In order to solve the problem of the gap in the quality of education in rural and urban schools, the following measures are being taken:
