A dialogue platform was held on the theme «Family and family values as the basis for sustainable development of society and the state»

September 12, 2020 on the eve of family Day at the Festival of young families «OTAU FEST» online held a dialogue platform on the theme «Family and family values as the basis for sustainable development of society and state» with the participation of Vice-Minister of information and public development A. Oralov.

The event was organized by the «Institute of equal rights and equal opportunities of Kazakhstan» with the support of the Ministry of information and public development and the Сenter for support of civil initiatives.

In the work of the dialogue platform was attended by the Deputy of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan, Deputy Chairman of the National Commission for women Affairs and family-demographic policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan L. Suleymen, Deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan I. Smirnova, Commissioner for human rights of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the National Commission for women Affairs and family-demographic policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan E. Azimova, the head of the Republican Council for protection of children's rights under the party «Nur Otan» D. Zakieva, representatives of government agencies, international organizations, NGOs, and the media.

In their speeches, the participants noted the importance of close interaction between state bodies and civil society in the implementation of family policy, the formation of an integrated model of social services, the active involvement of non-governmental organizations and mediation institutions in strengthening the family institution, and the need to support families with children with disabilities.

The participants also focused on such problems in the field of family and demographic policy as the growth of divorces, offenses in the field of family and domestic violence, facts of child injuries, and others.

Based on the results of the dialogue platform, recommendations will be developed for further improvement of family policy in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
