As part of her working visit to Kazan, Aida Balayeva met with the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov

The Kazakhstani delegation headed by the Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aida Balayeva paid a visit to Kazan on the occasion of the centenary of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Within the framework of a working visit to Kazan, the Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan met with the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The parties discussed the development of cooperation between the two republics.
Aida Balayeva also held meetings with the State Councilor of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev and the leadership of the Republican Agency for Press and Mass Communications “Tatmedia”.
The Kazakh minister was warmly received by the head of the republican agency "Tatmedia" Aidar Salimgarayev. During the meeting, the sides expressed their aspiration for cooperation in the information and telecommunication spheres.
According to Aida Balayeva, the linguistic affinity connecting the Kazakhs and Tatars could serve as a point of convergence in joint work to strengthen the cultural contacts of the Turkic peoples.
“Kazakhstan and Tatarstan are linked by a common ethnocultural code and centuries-old economic ties that developed long before the emergence of the Russian Empire, back in the days when our common ancestors jointly mastered the Great Silk Road. Our task is not to interrupt the connection between two kindred peoples and to strengthen it in a new era of development of infocommunication systems, ”said Aida Balayeva.
Representative of "Tatmedia" A. Salimgarayev noted the need to maintain constant contacts to exchange experience through online seminars for journalists and representatives of public relations services. Also, the issue of a possible exchange of projects in the field of culture, language, history and religion between television companies of Kazakhstan and Tatarstan was discussed.
On the same day, the Kazakh delegation visited a number of objects of historical and cultural significance in Kazan, and took part in celebratory events dedicated to the Centenary of the Republic of Tatarstan.
