1st Meeting of the Volunteer Council of Kazakhstan and Russia

Today, on the 28th of August, 2020, a meeting of the Volunteer Council was held in Nur-Sultan with the participation of volunteer organizations leaders from Kazakhstan and Russia in online format.

The meeting was attended by the Vice Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Askhat Oralov, Deputy Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs of the Russian Federation - Grigoriy Gurov, as well as heads of volunteer and youth organizations of the two countries.

In his speech, Askhat Oralov noted:
“During the pandemic, volunteers provided assistance to more than 1 million citizens who found themselves in difficult life situations.

Since the beginning of the year, a republican Front office of volunteers was made, which united 17 regional volunteer support centers, more than 600 volunteer organizations and 36 thousand volunteers. Along with this, a hotline was opened to identify the needs for food packages, medicines and other needs of people.

There is a single online platform qazvolunteer.kz, which today has become a real platform for volunteers. More than 33 thousand volunteers, more than 2.7 thousand organizations are registered on it. "

In addition, as the deputy head of Rosmolodezh Grigoriy Gurov noted, an important part of the last meeting of the Council was the discussion of the implementation of joint projects in the fields of ecology, medicine, and other initiatives, and on further joint work in this direction.

The purpose of this event is to create a communicative discussion platform to facilitate cooperation in the development of the volunteer movement, aimed at expanding the practice of information, methodological and expert cooperation.

Thus, the meeting participants, active volunteers expressed their readiness for further cooperation, participation in joint projects, the exchange of information and valuable experience.
