An expanded meeting of the Republican Mediation Council of the APK was held

Today, with the support of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an expanded meeting of the Republican Mediation Council of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan was held in Shymkent.

The event was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the APK – Head of the APK Secretariat of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan M. Azilkhanov, Akim of Shymkent M. Aitenov, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Kazakhstan E. Azimova, representatives of government agencies, members of the APK and media representatives.

In speech, Marat Azilkhanov focused on the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State given at the 31st session of the APK on April 29 this year, on the development of the institute of ethnomediation and strengthening human rights activities with the involvement of mediators of the Assembly.

1. Azilkhanov proposed to organize dialogue platforms on topical issues of ensuring the rights of citizens from among various ethnic groups, to hold receptions and consultations of citizens on topical issues in the field of interethnic relations on a permanent basis on the basis of friendship houses, to organize visits of APK mediators to rural settlements to provide legal assistance to the population and solve citizens' problems.

During the exchange of views, the participants of the meeting shared problematic issues, made suggestions on the mechanisms of ethnomediation, as well as improving the institution of mediation in general.

At the end of the meeting, the new chairman of the Mediation Council was introduced, who became Pulatov Sherzod, a member of the APK, chairman of the Uzbek ethno-cultural center of Nur-Sultan.
