IV Republican forum of fathers «Dad-support of the family»

On September 13, 2019, the akimat of Akmola region jointly with the Ministry of information and social development, the NGO "Union of fathers" and the law office with the support of the National Commission for women's Affairs and family and demographic policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter-the national Commission) held the IV Republican forum of fathers «Dad-support of the family» (hereinafter – the forum).

The event was attended by Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maksat Skakov, akim of Akmola region E. Marzhikpayev, members of Parliament, members of the National Commission, representatives of Central state and local Executive bodies, public figures, NGOs, as well as exemplary fathers – delegates from all regions.

Head of Republic Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, speaking at the plenary session of the August conference of education workers on August 16, noted the importance of forming solid life attitudes, which are the basic criterion for the quality of the educational process: «Our common task is to educate a new generation of optimists who have a strong will to overcome life's troubles.»

Fathers play a huge role in the formation of a strong family, in the upbringing and development of children, and in the formation of a male model of behavior. It is from fathers that such qualities as courage, determination, determination, and responsibility are passed on to children.

In his Address to the people of Kazakhstan on September 2, the President gave specific instructions to the Parliament and the Government to «toughen penalties for sexual violence, pedophilia, drug distribution, human trafficking, domestic violence against women and other serious crimes against the individual, especially against children».

The moderator of the forum, Deputy of the Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan, member of the National Commission Bakytbek Smagul stressed that «today the question of the role of father in family education, enhancing attention to enhancing the role of the father in the formation of children's sense of patriotism, moral and spiritual values is a priority of our work».

The participants of the forum unanimously expressed their opinion on the need to strengthen the connection between the family and the school in this process. It is necessary to strengthen joint work on the development of the fathers 'movement, where civil society would certainly play a significant role in the face of the NGO «Union of fathers» and its divisions, which should be established in each region.

Emin Askerov, the founder of the «GreenTAL» social workshop, expressed great interest in the Forum participants, where he spoke about the influence of family on the development of children's abilities.

The forum ended with the development of recommendations for Central and local government agencies to address topical issues of the Institute of fatherhood in Kazakhstan.

At the end of the event, the best model fathers were awarded letters of thanks on behalf of the National Commission.
