"Referendum 2022: liberalization of the political system

On May 5, 2022, a regional meeting of the Sarap expert club was held in Petropavlovsk on the topic: "Referendum 2022: liberalization of the political system".

The organizer is NJSC "KISD" with the support of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The event was attended by public figures, representatives of state bodies, deputies of regional and city maslikhats, KISD experts.

The participants of the meeting made public some provisions of amendments and amendments to the Constitution. In particular, these are the powers of the President, restrictions related to his tenure; the withdrawal from political parties of the chairmen and members of the Central Election Commission, the Accounts Committee, the Constitutional Council; the procedure for the formation and functions of the Senate and the Majilis of Parliament, the procedure for the formation of maslikhats, etc.

The main topic of the agenda was the discussion of the role of the referendum in building a New Kazakhstan.
