A special mission is assigned to ethno-cultural associations

Today on April 25, a working meeting of the Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Umarov with representatives of republican ethno-cultural associations took place in Almaty.

The event was attended by members of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan, heads of republican ethno-cultural associations, chief editors of ethnic mass media and active youth.

During the meeting, issues of effective implementation of state policy in the field of interethnic relations and modernization of the activities of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan were discussed.

In his speech, Askar Umarov noted that this work will be carried out as part of the implementation of the Address of the Head of State, in which a number of political transformations were outlined.

"Large-scale innovations in political culture are designed, first of all, to ensure the broad involvement of citizens in the processes of government. This, in turn, is the basis for the creation of a new Kazakhstan with a strong parliamentary culture and influential people's deputies. In addition, the opportunities for the party system will expand, the electoral legislation will be improved, the role of civil society institutions and the media will increase," the Minister said.

During his speech, A.Umarov also noted the importance of developing public relations and stressed the relevance of the "National Kurultai".

"This civic institution will replace the National Council of Public Trust, which will include well-known public figures, heads of public organizations and representatives of all regions. Since communication with civil society is part of the responsibility of our department, most of the "National Kurultai" will be made up of our colleagues, as well as those present in this hall," A.Umarov said.

At the end of his speech, the Minister added that for the further development of the state and society, this activity will find its logical continuation; and also, on the eve of the celebration of the Unity Day of the People of Kazakhstan, congratulated all participants on the upcoming holiday.
