The social project, implemented with the support of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is aimed at developing an inclusive society and tolerant attitude towards people with disabilities.
The project is aimed at reducing the level of discrimination against vulnerable groups, organizing a dialogue on equality, opportunities and active participation of Kazakhstanis with disabilities.
"Even now we can observe such a trend that adults with disabilities were subjected to elements of discrimination at an early age. They are isolated, their social contacts are disrupted. There is a process of social isolation. Yes, they receive state benefits, but they sit in four walls and their social circle is very narrow and limited," said Diana Kirgizbaeva, head of the public association "Korgan-M".
This year, social activists plan to hold training seminars for specialists on building an inclusive society.
"It all starts with the family. Therefore, it is necessary to pay special attention to inclusive education from an early age. In particular, the employees of our organization are engaged in inclusive education of this category - students of kindergartens and lower grades of secondary schools. I am sure that such children, when they grow up, will not allow themselves to discriminate against people with disabilities," Diana Kirgizbaeva is sure.
This year, the organizers plan to hold a dialogue platform to discuss topical issues.
Also, seminars will be held for young Kazakhstanis, where they will talk about building an inclusive society on the principle of "equal to equal".
