Psychologists of the hotline 1414 were awarded with diplomas

Today the Center for Support of Civil Initiatives noted the work of psychologists who provided support to Kazakhstanis who called the hotline number 1414 during the days of the state of emergency.

Recall that in early January the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan, created a separate telephone line on the basis of the unified call center 1414, where all residents in need received professional psychological assistance.

38 professional psychologists worked 24/7 with all Kazakhstanis who applied to the hotline number.

"In the first days of the state of emergency, our employees turned to social networks with a request to respond to professional psychologists. And there were not a few such caring people. We would like to express our gratitude to all psychologists for the fact that you showed willingness to work as volunteers and supported everyone who turned to you for support," said Chairman of the Board of the Center for Support of Civil Initiatives Lima Diaz.

Zarina Kenzhekar was one of the first to join the hotline. She is a practicing psychologist.

"I learned that I need the help of psychologists from a general chat. I immediately started working, my brother is a military man, and I knew that the situation was very difficult. The calls were different, but I remember a case when a resident of Almaty called and said that she was alone with two children and lived in an area where shots were heard. She called at night because fears become more active at night. And she had a huge fear not for herself, but for the children. I tried to help this woman and other callers cope with an anxious state, to provide maximum support with the help of special methods that psychologists possess," says Zarina Kenzhekar.

Work on psychological support will continue. According to the Chairman of the Board of the Center for Support of Civil Initiatives, now assistance will be provided to children and adolescents who have witnessed mass riots and need professional help.
