Minister A.Umarov`s meeting with the main imams of the regions was held in the Duma

At the invitation of the Supreme Mufti of Nauryzbai kazha Taganuly, the Minister of Information and Social Development Askar Umarov met with the regional imams of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan.

A constructive exchange of views took place on the issues of cooperation between the Ministry and the Duma. The clergy asked the Minister their questions. Thus, the issues of countering the spread of radical religious ideology in society were discussed.

In his speech, Askar Umarov noted the huge role of the imams of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan in promoting spiritual values and moral education of young people, as well as in protecting the country's Muslims from the influence of various kinds of destructive views.

The Minister also thanked the Supreme Mufti and all the clergy of the Duma, who during the events of the "Tragic January" made a call for unity and cohesion to ensure peace and harmony in the country. "I consider this a manifestation of the true spirituality of citizens who sincerely love their native Kazakhstan," A.Umarov said.

In turn, the Supreme Mufti of Nauryzbai kazhy Taganuly said that this year the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan adopted an action program in seven areas of information and educational work on the topic "Islam is a religion of peace and cooperation".

Following the meeting, the participants expressed their readiness to increase cooperation in educational activities in accordance with global trends and the use of effective methods of information dissemination.
