In Kazakhstan, the procedure for online registration at place of residence on the e-Government portal has changed. Now, it takes a bit more than 20 minutes to get registered. Moreover, since January this year, thanks to changes in the Tax Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, citizens do not need to pay the state duty for registration any longer.
It should be reminded that previously a citizen had to pay the state duty of 10 per cent of Minimum Calculation Index for registration at place of residence, and then he/she had to visit a front office of “Government for Citizens” Public Corporation where a migration service staff recorded the registration data on the chip embedded in ID card.
Since March this year, the procedure has been made considerably easier on the portal. Now, after a real estate owner and a citizen wishing to get registered sign in on the egov.kz portal, the latter shall submit an application which is certified by the owner of real estate’s digital signature. The processing of the submitted application takes about 10 minutes, after which a citizen may also order a residential address certificate with the new registration data. The service is fully automated and available online in all regions of Kazakhstan, subject to having one’s digital signature.
