Dialogue between the government and society: The X Civil Forum has started

November 2, 2021, Nur-Sultan.

The opening of the largest event of the year of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence in the field of interaction with the non-governmental sector: the X Civil Forum of Kazakhstan "30 years of partnership in the interests of sustainable development of society and the State" took place.

The anniversary forum was opened by Minister of Information and Social Development Aida Balayeva and President of the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan Banu Nurgaziyeva.

In her greeting, the Minister stressed that the X Civil Forum is not just an anniversary event, but an important event, the work of which is entirely dedicated to the results of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence. A.Balayeva recalled that the civil sector of the country at the dawn of Independence began with a couple dozen NGOs, and today has grown to the most developed public institution in Central Asia. Thus, every year the ranks of Kazakhstan's "third sector" are replenished by an average of 150 new participants.

"The Civil Forum is far from a "declarative-protocol gathering of NGO-supporters," as some uninitiated laymen claim, but a real working process, where applied ideas and initiatives are born, where ministers and akims, along with civil activists, draw up joint action plans, where the state delegates the solution of individual social problems to NGOs," the minister said.

It should be noted that for the first time Kazakhstan's international partners, represented by OSCE, UNDP, UNICEF, Friedrich Ebert Foundation, UNESCO, USAID, are taking part in the Civil Forum. A.Balayeva noted their significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstan's civil society. "I want to thank these missions for constructive dialogue and valuable recommendations, for mutual understanding and support, for humanity and openness," she said.

In turn, the President of the Civil Alliance of Kazakhstan B.Nurgaziyeva noted that the Civil Forum is the country's main platform for constructive dialogue between society, government and business. "Today, the Civil Forum has acquired a nationwide character.

It has become an effective feedback mechanism for the population and the authorities. There is every reason to believe that the non-governmental sector has formed into a real social force," she said.

The work of the X Civil Forum will take place for 5 days from November 22 to 26 in the cities of Nur-Sultan and Almaty in hybrid: both online and offline formats.

Everyone can take part in the Forum online, live broadcast will be conducted daily on special pages in the social networks YouTube and Facebook, viewers will be able to ask their questions in the comments and promptly receive feedback.

It is planned to reach more than 20 thousand participants from among representatives of NGOs and the public, government agencies and the quasi-public sector, the media and business.
