Topical issues of State policy in the field of religion were discussed with UN representatives

Today, October 27, hosted a meeting of Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Religious Affairs of MISD Bauyrzhan Bakirova, regional coordinator of counter-terrorism Department of the United Nations (UNOCT) Murad Tangiyev.

1. Tangiyev informed about the work being done UNOCT in the fight against violent extremism and terrorism, as well as about the ongoing KTU UN projects in the Central Asian countries on coordination of counter-terrorism and violent extremism.

In turn, B.Bakirov spoke about the state policy in the religious sphere implemented by the CRA MISD, about the main issues of legislation and the state program for countering extremism and terrorism, as well as about the state of rehabilitation and reintegration of repatriated citizens from the zones of terrorist activity under Operation Zhusan.

The parties agreed to continue further working contacts and cooperation in the field of prevention of religious extremism.
