A meeting on working with the youth of the "NEET" category was held

Vice Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Umarov held a meeting to discuss issues of methodological support and the formation of algorithms for working with the youth of the "NEET" category, especially at the regional level.

Askar Umarov noted that the activity to reduce the number of young people of the "NEET" category is one of the priorities of the election program of the Nur Otan party, which is fixed in paragraph 71 of the Roadmap for its implementation.

It should be noted that the Ministry of Information and Social Development, together with the «Zhastar» Research Center and local executive authorities, is working to develop mechanisms for working with young people of the "NEET" category. Thus, special departments for targeted work are being created in youth resource centers due to internal redistribution, a regional youth base is being formed and a program for the socialization of young citizens is being prepared, which will allow them to obtain new qualifications, continue their studies or find a job.

In addition, within the framework of the draft law on State youth policy, it is planned to legislate the concept of "Youth of the category "NEET".

The meeting was attended by representatives of the National Bureau of Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Research Center "Zhastar", the Republican Project Office for Youth Work of the category "NEET" and the expert community.

As a result of the discussions, it was decided to additionally consider the issue of updating the methodology for calculating the youth of the "NEET" category in order to cover this category with State support measures.
