About the situation regarding Turaninfo journalists.kz and Channel 7

Ministry of Information and Social Development regarding the invitation of the Agency's correspondent Turaninfo.kz I.Dastan and the reporter of «Channel 7», D. Alimkul, reports the following to the police department of the Zhambyl region as part of the pre-trial investigation. The Ministry has requested relevant information from law enforcement agencies on this fact. According to the preliminary information provided, a pre-trial investigation has now been launched, the status of media representatives has been designated as witnesses. The Ministry keeps this issue under control.

At the same time, we note that in accordance with the Law «On Mass Media», journalists should not forget to take measures to verify the accuracy of the information disseminated.
