Training seminars on the discussion of the methodology for calculating the youth of the NEET category have started

On September 15 of this year, a complex of training seminars for youth resource centers began in the city of Aktobe, which will be held for three days. On the first day, specialists in working with youth discussed the issues of calculating and implementing the methodology for identifying young people of the NEET category.

The participants of the seminar, studying global trends and new approaches in working with young people, got acquainted with the step-by-step planning of the organization of their activities, primarily with the youth of the NEET category, as well as with the filtering of the program work of youth centers. During the discussion the staff of the West Kazakhstan Regional YRC stressed the importance of creating a regional NEET database in the context of each city and district. According to them, today there are certain difficulties in carrying out targeted work with representatives of this category of youth, since there is no single database.

The NEET indicator is an important tool for measuring the potential of the youth labor market, since it includes the part of young people who do not study and do not work, and cannot be considered unemployed. It should be noted that since the beginning of the year, the Youth Research Center, with the assistance of the Committee for Youth and Family Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has been conducting a broad discussion on the introduction of the NEET calculation methodology, the formation of a unified database of this group of young people and issues of their further socialization.

It is reported that the SRC «Youth» together with the Republican Project Office for the Socialization of Young People of the NEET category will begin implementing a new methodology for identifying and calculating young citizens who find themselves in difficult life situations in October of this year. Along with this, a program for the socialization of young citizens is being prepared.
