A unique dictionary for journalists was presented in Kazakhstan
On September 6, 2021 the presentation of the dictionary «SOZTUZER. Kate koldanystar sozdigi» was held in the building of «Kazmedia Ortalygy».
The guests of the event were deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of business, public, scientific and cultural circles, journalists, as well as heads of the country's state media.
Dictionary «SOZTUZER. Kate koldanystar sozdigi» is developed on the basis of monitoring of materials of domestic mass media with the participation of qualified linguists, experienced journalists and professional editors. The authors of the project identified, classified and analyzed the most common errors in the State language in the information field of the country.
As a result a dictionary was created with specific examples of incorrect use of words in the Kazakh language, as well as common spelling, punctuation and stylistic errors. Its pages also provide recommendations for using the correct version of words and sentences.
It is worth noting that this is the first large-scale project in this direction.
The key goal of the project is to strengthen and develop the State language in the media.
The author of the idea of creating a dictionary in the Kazakh language for domestic media was the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dauren Abayev. The project manager is Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Philology, Professor Sherubai Kurmanbayuly.
The dictionary is recommended primarily to editors of Kazakh-language mass media, for permanent use, as well as to the general public seeking to write competently in the Kazakh language.
Its publication will give a new impetus to the strengthening of the State language in the media and will have a positive impact on the ability of the public, especially the younger generation, to correctly speak and write in the Kazakh language.
The dictionary is presented as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Independence of Kazakhstan and is timed to the Day of Languages of the People of Kazakhstan. The organizers of the event are the Ministry of Information and Social Development together with the corporate fund «Media Damytu Kory».
