Marathon of good deeds: free courses for employees of the tourism sector launched in the East Kazakhstan region

In Kazakhstan, the implementation of the national project "Marathon of Good Deeds" continues, within the framework of which rehabilitation, inclusive and educational centers are opened in the country, and more than 100 thousand people have already received targeted social assistance.
Representatives of the corporate sector and business structures support the ideas of good. "Funds for Sustainable Rural Development" and JSC "Aitas KZ" have launched free training courses in the field of tourism in the Katon-Karagay district of the East Kazakhstan region.
"The Aitas Group of companies was among the first to join the Marathon. We are pleased that such projects are being implemented under the auspices of a nationwide project and thank the company for supporting and popularizing the ideas of kindness, mutual assistance and corporate social responsibility," said Lima Diaz, Chairman of the Board of the NAO Center for Support of Civil Initiatives.
The Fund for Sustainable Rural Development allocated 2 million tenge for the implementation of the project. According to the organizers, 90 percent of the participants of the educational modules are local residents, the remaining 10 are residents of the nearest cities. In total, 102 active and novice employees of the tourist business will be trained: 15 places are provided in each module, with the exception of the course for tour guides.
"The activities of the funds are aimed at the development of rural regions. And this is always about the quality of medicine and education, about improving living conditions in rural areas, about creating favorable conditions for the development of entrepreneurship, tourism, and culture. We are glad to join the "Marathon of Good Deeds", because our mission is to serve the people of Kazakhstan, " said Ksenia Verba, Director of Mission and Mission of Aitas KZ JSC.
Over the past year, the tourism sector in Kazakhstan and around the world has experienced a significant decline due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, according to the statistics of the World Tourism Organization, the global flow of foreign tourists decreased by 3.8 times. However, the expanded UNWTO scenarios for 2021-2024 indicate a revival of international tourism by the second half of 2021. According to experts, the return to the level of 2019 may take from 2 to 4 years.
"We should use this period wisely and work on the level of service, the development of tourist routes, and the improvement of the skills of local employees of the tourist business: guest house workers, tour guides," said Dina Sheriyazdanova, a certified trainer for the UNWTO system and the World Union of Tour Guides.
The training of current and novice tourism workers has already begun. On April 26, the first of the five educational modules that will be used for training - a course on training guest house employees-was launched. In addition, the program will include modules for the training of tour guides, accompanying horse routes, local artisans and workers in the field of agrotourism.
We remind you that the national project "Marathon of Good Deeds" was launched in February this year on the initiative of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's Independence. One of the most important tasks of the project is to jointly build a community based on the idea of generosity and kindness. Everyone can join the marathon by sharing their good deeds on social networks under the official hashtags #KAYYRYMDYISTERMARATHONS #MARATHONDOBRYHDEL.
