Representatives of Central Asian countries discussed issues of freedom of religion

A regional conference "Political and legal aspects of ensuring religious tolerance, rights and freedoms of believers: an overview of national practice" was held today in an online format with the participation of representatives of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

During the conference, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Anuar Khatiev made a presentation on the model of relations between the state and religion in Kazakhstan.

The conference participants also discussed the religious situation in Central Asia and issues of protecting human rights to freedom of religion.

Representatives of the countries participating in the conference expressed confidence in the further development of constructive cooperation to exchange experience on issues of ensuring freedom of religion.
