"Marathon of good deeds" in Kordai district. Education for special children in rural areas

As part of the initiative of the Head of State, K.Tokayev "Marathon of Good Deeds" in the Kordai district of the Zhambyl region, branches of the Cabinet of Psychological and Pedagogical Correction, as well as the Resource Center for Inclusive Education for Special Children, have been opened and operate. The project was implemented by the Dara Foundation with the support of the Samruk-Kazyna Trust Fund for the Development of Social Projects.

910 children with special educational needs live in Kordai district, including 403 of them with disabilities. There will be a full-fledged Resource Center for them in Kordai, and branches of the Psychological and Pedagogical Correction Office in the villages of Masanchi and Sartobe. In addition, the Kordai Correction Room was repaired and re-equipped with the necessary equipment.
"This project for the development of the existing district Office of psychological and Pedagogical Correction can become an example for promoting and expanding the range of services for children with special educational needs living in rural areas, "said Saule Beksultanova, a representative of the DARA Foundation.

The resource center in Kordai will create the necessary conditions for the full and effective inclusion of children with special educational needs in general education schools. The Center is also aimed at providing a complex of scientific and methodological services to teachers, parents of children with developmental disabilities. At the same time, in the offices of psychological and pedagogical correction, any special child and his family will be able to receive comprehensive qualified assistance from a team of specialists: a speech pathologist, a psychologist, a speech therapist, a sign language teacher, a typhlopedagogue, a physical therapy instructor, a music rhythm teacher.

Recall, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in honor of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan proposed to organize a national project "Marathon of Good Deeds", which was actively picked up by representatives of NGOs, business, educational institutions, government agencies and others.
