In 2021, the Award will be held for the fifth anniversary time. It was first established in 2017 on the initiative of the Ministry of Information and Public Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The main goal of the Award is to stimulate the development of the Kazakh television industry through the prism of evaluation by the professional community.

Over the past years, more than a thousand journalists have applied for participation, and 178 works have been included in the list of nominees. The owners of the exclusive statuette were 48 specialists of domestic television journalism.

The best domestic projects will receive statuettes of the Tumar Award for the highest achievements in the field of television arts. The statuette depicts a Turkic talisman-tumar, which symbolizes the amulet and protects its owner. In turn, the national award "Tumar" has become the personification of success and a confident look into the future.

The names of the winners will be announced in April. In addition to an elegant statuette-amulet, the winners will receive 1 million tenge for their contribution to the development of Kazakhstan's television.
