Today, on February 17, a round table meeting "The role of the civil sector in the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the country's Independence"was held in Nur-Sultan.
The event was attended by Vice-Minister of Information and Public Development Bolat Tlepov, Deputy Mayor of Nur-Sultan Bakhtiyar Maken, heads of NGOs, civil activists and representatives of government agencies.
The participants of the meeting discussed the implementation of socially significant projects in the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Vice-Minister of Information and Public Development Bolat Tlepov during his speech noted that at present it is almost impossible to imagine holding socially significant events without civil initiatives, and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the country's Independence is no exception.
"In fact, the independence of the state and the development of civil society are closely interrelated and very dependent on each other concepts. After all, the country's selfless struggle leads to independence, and the active contribution of patriot citizens preserves and supports this independence, " B. Tlepov said.
It should be noted that one of the most important achievements of Independence is a professional, active and independent community of non-governmental organizations. Active cooperation with civil society institutions has been in the state's field of vision for 30 years of Independence. If earlier only dozens of non-governmental organizations worked, today civil initiatives cover all important spheres of the state's life.
Thus, 16 thousand NGOs are actively working in the country, in total, more than 22 thousand public organizations are registered. About 24 thousand people are employed in the civil sector. Of these, 9% are working in the field of youth and children's initiatives; 34% - in the field of support for socially vulnerable segments of the population in the sphere of education and science, sports and physical education; 16% in the promotion of healthy lifestyles and protect the rights and lawful interests of citizens and organizations; 9% - in the field of gender issues, environmental protection and development of culture and art.
"As you can see, even quantitatively, the structure of NGOs reflects the issues that most concern our citizens. In this regard, we see the non-governmental sector as a community of like-minded people whose energy and abilities act as a catalyst for positive changes in the country. And this is especially important in this Anniversary year, " the Vice-Minister stressed.
He thanked the representatives of NGOs and public activists for their civil contribution to the development of cooperation between the state and society.
