A draft order "On Approval of the Rules for Accreditation of Journalists"

A draft order "On Approval of the Rules for Accreditation of Journalists"

A draft order of the Minister of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Approval of the Rules for Accreditation of Journalists” has been developed.
At present, the current Rules for the Accreditation of Journalists do not fully provide a clear and simplified mechanism for carrying out this procedure.
The developed draft Rules include the following proposals and innovations:
1) determination of the terms of permanent accreditation at the discretion of the owner or editor of the media (at least 1 year) (this measure is due to the need to ensure flexibility in accrediting journalists and to exclude the possibility of occurrence of cases that may create negative conditions in relation to certain media);
2) the introduction of temporary accreditation required to complete a specific editorial task, or to replace a permanently accredited journalist in the event of his illness, vacation, business trip, or coverage of a specific event;
3) reduction of the package of documents from 4 to 2;
4) reduction of the period for considering an application and making a decision on it from 7 working days to 3 - working days;
In order to conduct public discussion, the Project was posted on the Internet portal "Open legal acts" on February 1, 2021 (you can go to the following link https://legalacts.egov.kz/npa/view?id=6681117).
