A meeting was held with the chairman of the Association of Chernobyl victims of Kazakhstan

Today, December 4, 2020, the Vice Minister of Information and Public Development Bolat Tlepov met with the Chairman of the Association of Legal Entities "Union Chernobyl" of the Republic of Kazakhstan Viktor Deymund. The agenda of the meeting was the issue of preparing and holding events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Chairman of the Association "Union of Chernobyl" Viktor Deymund noted that every year there are fewer and fewer participants in the Chernobyl events, since participation in the liquidation of the accident did not pass without leaving a trace for the health of veterans, and expressed a request for assistance in creating a documentary film with the participation of liquidators from Kazakhstan. “In 1986, over 30 thousand people were called from Kazakhstan, of which less than 5 thousand people have survived today. Every year there are fewer of us, as irreparable damage was done to health. Therefore, within the framework of events dedicated to the 35th anniversary, it would be a significant event for us to assist in the preparation of a plot or a documentary film dedicated to the memory of liquidators from Kazakhstan, ”said Victor Deymund. In turn, the vice minister noted the significance of the feat accomplished by the liquidators, as well as the importance of supporting and strengthening cooperation with the participants in the Chernobyl events. “In the domestic media space, insufficient attention was paid to the events of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, while the feat accomplished by the liquidators is incommensurable for humanity. Thanks to their courage, the destinies and lives of a large number of people have been saved, ”the vice minister stressed. Bolat Tlepov expressed his intention to support the initiative of the members of the Association for the preparation of a relevant documentary plot, and also proposed several options for creating an electronic book in memory of the participants in the Chernobyl events. The parties expressed their intentions to develop cooperation in this direction.
