Meeting of the Council of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan chaired by the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy
Opening the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev dwelled on the history of creation and the process of formation of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
- For a quarter of a century, the Assembly has evolved from a consultative and advisory body to a national institution with its own parliamentary representation. It embodied all the best characteristics of the universal structure of civil society. Made an important contribution to making friendship, peace, tranquility and trust an integral part of the public life of Kazakhstan, - said the Chairman of the ANC.
Elbasy noted that relevant laws have been adopted in Kazakhstan, according to which any actions that violate interethnic and interfaith consent are unconstitutional.
- Kazakhstan's policy in this area meets all accepted international standards. Such organizations as the UN, OSCE invariably give high marks to our model of interethnic relations and efforts to strengthen the unity of the nation, - said the First President of Kazakhstan.
Nursultan Nazarbayev also dwelled on the results achieved in the framework of the implementation of the program for the modernization of public consciousness "Rukhani Zhagyru"
Elbasy emphasized that all ethnic groups in Kazakhstan supported the consolidating role of the state language.
The First President of Kazakhstan separately noted the efforts of the ANC representatives to support the population in the context of the coronavirus epidemic.
During the meeting of the Council, the Chairman of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan dwelled on the main tasks of strengthening social harmony and unity of the people of the country.
The First President of Kazakhstan stressed that the Government has taken anti-crisis measures aimed at sustainable economic development of the country, increasing social well-being and general well-being of citizens.
- The government programs of business support and economic development adopted in Kazakhstan have allowed us to provide millions of Kazakhstanis with stable income. Today, work is underway to implement the Address of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev "Kazakhstan in a new reality: time for action." The message is a broad program of reforms in all spheres of the country's life, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
Noting the existing request for a new, inclusive policy in the field of interethnic relations, the Chairman of the ANC pointed out the importance of developing measures aimed at deepening the processes of society's integration.
“We should more effectively and proactively implement the integration potential of the Kazakhstani model of unity and harmony based on our experience. It is necessary to continue work on transforming the ethnic and cultural diversity of Kazakhstan into a competitive advantage and an effective tool for strengthening the country's independence and development. At the same time, peace, harmony and unity were, are and will be the key priorities of state policy. This is a principled position in the field of interethnic relations, and it will not change, - Elbasy said.
In addition, the First President of Kazakhstan stressed that the Kazakh language has the potential to become a unifying factor and further strengthen the unity of the people of our country.
Nursultan Nazarbayev pointed to the growing historical role and responsibility of the Kazakh people for the state of interethnic relations in the country.
- We can say with good reason that the Kazakh people are a state-forming entity, and they constitute the majority in the country. At the same time, it is obvious that, while respecting ourselves, our national dignity and language, each of us must simultaneously respect all our other compatriots who also contribute to the development of the country. Only together it will be possible to build a strong, understandable and attractive image of the future of Kazakhstan and all its citizens, - said the Chairman of the ANC.
Elbasy also called on representatives of all ethnic groups to actively participate in the life of the country.
- A third of the population of our country are representatives of various ethnic groups. Everyone knows their contribution to the achievements of Kazakhstan, and we must build up this potential. This is especially true of the so-called places of compact residence of ethnic groups. On the one hand, all the necessary conditions have been created there for the preservation and development of the traditions, languages, and cultures of these ethnic groups. On the other hand, on this basis, we need to cultivate open, non-isolated communities in their cultural, linguistic and socio-economic niches, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
In addition, the First President of Kazakhstan pointed out that in the information and ideological work of the ANC, special attention should be paid to strengthening tolerance and combating xenophobia among young people.
- The Assembly was created thanks to the common desire and impulse of all representatives of ethnic groups living in our country. The Assembly is our common brainchild, created by the entire nation. And we must take care of it. Our model of integration is a socio-cultural, civilized core around which we will continue to live and develop, - said the ANC Chairman.
During the meeting of the Council, new Deputy Chairmen of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan were presented: Chairman of the Uygur Cultural Center of the Almaty Region Zakirzhan Pirmukhamedovich Kuziev and a member of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, Director of the Kazakh TV channel Bekbaeva Maya Tolegenovna.
