"Оn approval Of the rules for accreditation of journalists»

The Ministry of information and social development of the Republic of Kazakhstan has developed a draft order of the Minister of information and public development of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On approval Of the rules for accreditation of journalists" (hereinafter – the draft).
Currently, the current rules for accreditation of journalists do not fully provide a clear and simplified mechanism for conducting this procedure.
The developed draft Rules include a number of conceptual proposals and innovations that are developed taking into account the proposals of the media community:
1) determining the terms of permanent accreditation at the discretion of the media owner or editor (at least 1 year) (this measure is due to the need to ensure flexibility in the accreditation of journalists and exclude the possibility of cases that may create negative conditions for certain media);
2) introduction of temporary accreditation required to perform a specific editorial task, or to replace a permanently accredited journalist in case of illness, vacation, business trip, or coverage of a specific event;
3) reducing the package of documents from 4 to 2;
4) shortening the period for reviewing the application and making a decision on it from 7 business days to 3 business days;
5) provision for provisions on appeal against illegal actions or omissions of state bodies, public associations and organizations when accrediting journalists.
For the purpose of public discussion, the Project was posted on the Open NPAS Internet portal on October 26, 2020 (you can go to the following link https://legalacts.egov.kz/npa/view?id=5253662 ).
