Global Expert Kai-Fu Lee Delivers Training Ahead of GITEX AI Kazakhstan 2026

Ahead of the global forum GITEX AI Kazakhstan 2026, a landmark educational event for the country's further digital transformation took place in Almaty.

World-renowned artificial intelligence expert Dr. Kai-Fu Lee delivered his signature "AI Class" course for the heads of key government bodies and the quasi-public sector of Kazakhstan. The programme brought together the country's top digitalisation figures, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan Zhaslan Madiyev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kuanyshbek Yessekeyev, National Bank Chairman Timur Suleimenov, and representatives of the quasi-public sector such as Kazakhtelecom and NIT JSC.

Dr. Kai-Fu Lee is a figure of global standing — a recognised venture capitalist and bestselling author on AI who also holds the strategically important role of member of the Artificial Intelligence Development Council under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In this capacity, he provides expert support to the state, helping shape the national agenda and introduce advanced AI standards into public administration and the economy.

During the training, Dr. Lee presented a deep analysis of AI as a new fundamental system of production and a productivity infrastructure.

As Dr. Kai-Fu Lee noted, "artificial intelligence is becoming the most powerful growth driver in history; as the economy accelerates and the cost of technology falls by up to 175 times, the key factor for success becomes the speed of adoption and the ability to work with intelligent systems."

The programme covered critically important aspects of the evolution of autonomous AI agents capable of independently planning and achieving goals, the global technology landscape, and scenarios for applying AI in the public sector. Participants were introduced to the concept of the platform layer necessary for integrating models and tools, as well as modern methods of human-algorithm interaction such as prompt engineering and "vibe coding."

The intensive served as a preparatory stage for the country's technology leaders ahead of the forthcoming forum.

Following the session, participants gained both a theoretical foundation and practical tools for implementing innovative initiatives within their respective agencies.

Tomorrow, the largest technology exhibition in Central Asia dedicated to artificial intelligence - GITEX AI Kazakhstan 2026 - will take place in Almaty for the first time. The forum will bring together policymakers, technology companies, startups, and investors from more than 60 countries. Participants include global technology leaders: Cisco, Cloudflare, Google Cloud, Huawei, Dell, H3C Technologies, Lenovo, Trend Micro, Hikvision, HP, Noventiq, Redington, Salesforce, Vertiv, Yandex, and others.
