Government Service for Labour Immigrants Moves Entirely Online

Government Service for Labour Immigrants Moves Entirely Online

From 13 April 2026, the government service for issuing and renewing work permits for labour immigrants in Kazakhstan will no longer be available at Public Service Centres, and applications may only be submitted online.

The service for issuing and renewing permits for labour immigrants has been transferred to an online format and is exclusively available through the eGov.kz portal. The update has eliminated the need to visit Public Service Centres and has simplified the document processing procedure.

Foreign nationals can now apply online for or renew a work permit for employment with private individuals in domestic settings on the territory of Kazakhstan. Users no longer need to manually upload certain documents: for example, a medical certificate and insurance data are automatically retrieved from government systems. This reduces the time required to submit an application and lowers the likelihood of errors.

"All necessary integrations for the issuance of work permits to labour immigrants have been successfully implemented on the eGov.kz e-government portal, including automatic verification of medical examination, insurance, and tax payment. Given the rapid transition of government services to an online format and their provision through eGov.kz, which ensures round-the-clock access for both individuals and legal entities, the provision of this service through Public Service Centres will be discontinued from 13 April. Henceforth, applications will be submitted exclusively online via egov.kz or migration.enbek.kz," noted First Deputy Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan Rostislav Konyashkin.

The decision to issue or renew a permit is taken by local executive bodies of districts and cities of regional significance following coordination with territorial internal affairs bodies. The permit is issued for a period of between 1 and 12 months within the established quota for the recruitment of labour immigrants. Additional information on accessing the service is available on the eGov.kz portal and social media channels.

The update was implemented through the joint efforts of the Government Services Committee of the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of Kazakhstan, National Information Technologies JSC, the Government for Citizens Non-Commercial Joint Stock Company, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Healthcare of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, and the State Credit Bureau.
