Kazakhstan Digitises Database of Scientific Laboratories and Equipment on the Astanahub Platform

Finding scientific infrastructure in Kazakhstan is becoming easier through the Single Window of the National Innovation System, built on the Astanahub platform, which serves as the key digital tool for interaction between science, business, and the state.

As part of the development of this ecosystem, particular attention has been given to the E-lab module — a unique database of laboratories and scientific equipment that for the first time in the country has carried out a systematic digitisation of data on the technological potential of research organisations.

The development of this database is aimed at addressing strategic objectives: simplifying the search for laboratories and equipment for research, improving the efficiency of existing scientific infrastructure utilisation, and developing cooperation between science and business. By consolidating information in one place, users can find laboratories by specific fields, parameters, and regions; access current, structured information; and interact directly with research organisations. This significantly accelerates the integration of scientific developments into the real economy. For research organisations themselves, participation in the Single Window of the National Innovation System opens opportunities to present their infrastructure to a wide audience, attract new partners and clients, and increase the utilisation of their laboratories.

"The development of the Single Window of the National Innovation System is an important step in creating a transparent and effective technology environment where science and business can interact directly. The integration of the E-lab module allows us for the first time to systematically digitise the country's scientific potential, providing innovators and enterprises with convenient access to research laboratories and modern equipment. We are committed to ensuring that every scientific resource works for the benefit of the economy, and that digital tools and AI technologies help accelerate the journey from idea to real production," noted Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development Zhaslan Madiyev.

To date, the Single Window of the National Innovation System database already unites more than 2,000 IT companies and 900 research organisations, and continues to be actively expanded with the participation of the professional community.

The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development invites new organisations to register on the platform and update their data. Integration into the common innovation system not only increases the visibility of scientific resources but also lays the foundation for building an open competitive environment, where monitoring and project support will in future be enhanced by artificial intelligence tools.
