Digital Qazaqstan 2026: EIGC Participants Get Acquainted with Kazakhstan’s Digital Industry Achievements

In Shymkent, the heads of government of EAEU member states and observer states visited the exhibition of digital projects at the Digital Qazaqstan 2026 forum, held in conjunction with the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

The forum’s exposition brought together startup and IT company projects, solutions in robotics and AI drones, GameDev directions, as well as AI Talent Hub platforms featuring educational, expert, and applied formats of interaction. This approach reflects Kazakhstan’s course towards developing a unified digital ecosystem.

The heads of delegations reviewed developments in artificial intelligence for public administration, industry, and urban infrastructure.

Vice-Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dmitriy Mun, presented infrastructure initiatives, including the multi-agent platform AlemGPT, covering 35 public services, and the National AI Platform project.

In the sphere of digital infrastructure, projects on data center and energy development were presented. The Chairman of the Board of Kazakhtelecom JSC, Bagdat Mussin, presented a visualization of the draft ‘Data Center Valley’ project, which envisages the phased development of a technological cluster, the launch of AI data centers with a capacity of 50 MW each, and the expansion of energy infrastructure.

Digital solutions for the urban environment were also presented separately. For instance, Deputy Akim of Shymkent, Arman Sabitov, presented the Intelligent Transport System (ITS), the AIQYN digital school safety system, and a unified drone infrastructure for rapid response in public safety, environmental, and urban management spheres.

In the human capital development and fintech block, solutions from Freedom Holding Corp. were presented. The company’s CEO, Timur Turlov, presented initiatives on integrating artificial intelligence into education and business processes, including launching a joint project with OpenAI to provide access to ChatGPT Edu for Kazakhstani educators, and demonstrated Freedom’s AI solutions: personal voice assistants for business and everyday services, enabling process automation and enhanced user convenience within the SuperApp.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alageum Electric Group, Yerkiebulan Ilyasov, demonstrated a suite of Smart Grid solutions aimed at creating新一代 intelligent electrical grids. The presented architecture unifies generation facilities, transmission and distribution lines, energy storage systems, smart devices, and end consumers into a single digital environment. Also presented were a transformer monitoring system and AI-based solutions for solar generation forecasting. Implementing a digital substation and related solutions can reduce technical losses by up to 30%, commercial losses by 5-10%, decrease peak load by 10-15%, and achieve AI model forecasting accuracy of up to 95%.

Attention was also given to integration processes. Member of the EEC Board for Internal Markets, Informatization, Information and Communication Technologies, Varos Simonyan, presented the launch of cross-border electronic document flow with an electronic digital signature (EDS) verification service in a B2B format, which allows real-time document authenticity verification and reduces administrative costs in interstate interactions.

The startup alley also featured AI Startify Incubator, Auezov AI First, Ushqyn AI Operator, AIJan, and CortexAI, reflecting Kazakhstan’s course towards building its own ecosystem of AI solutions – from university developments to applied services for government, business, education, and healthcare.
