Investment attraction in the tourism sector in the Kyzylorda region increased by 201%

At today's government meeting, the topic of tourism development was discussed.
At the special session following the government meeting, the regional leader Nurlybek Nalibaev emphasized the significance of the matter and provided instructions to the relevant officials.
“The development of tourism in our country is a top priority in state policy. The Law on Tourism Activity has outlined specific mechanisms for public support.
Last year, the government approved “Concept for the development of the tourist industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2023-2029”. Such initiatives and reforms have given new impetus to the development of tourism. According to the results of last year, there was a positive dynamic in the implementation of target indicators in the tourism sector. Within the plan approved by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan, the volume of investment in the industry amounted to KZT 20.7 billion, the plan was implemented at 201%”, said the head of the region.
Nevertheless, in certain districts, as outlined in the Kyzylorda Regional Development Plan for 2021-2025, there is a low rate of achieving the set goals. Nurlybek Mashbekovich has directed the akims of these districts to implement the required actions and speed up the progress.
It should be noted that certain measures were taken this year to increase the tourist potential of the region. On April, EU ambassadors visited our region and got acquainted with investment opportunities. In order to increase the tourist attractiveness of the region, a new bus station has been put into operation. Construction of the new terminal of the airport "Korkyt ata" has been completed. It is planned to purchase 100 eco-taxis to improve transportation for tourists.
Last year, 113 thousand domestic tourists and 3980 foreign tourists were recorded. There are 150 accommodations with 4195 beds in the region. Compared to the reporting period of 2022, this figure increased by 112.8%.
In the past summer holiday season, 13 small and 2 large recreation areas in the region were visited by 110 thousand vacationers, about 70 thousand people visited the Kamystybas and Lake Khankozha recreation areas. Their owners have received clear guidance to enhance safety protocols and follow sanitary guidelines closely for the upcoming holiday period.
In the area, there are 5 sanatoriums offering a total of 806 beds, and during the first four months of this year, a total of 2,587 individuals stayed at these facilities.
The road infrastructure is progressing quickly as well. On the section of the road corridor “Western Europe – Western China” in the Kyzylorda region, there are 53 road maintenance complexes. Last year, 17 sanitary and hygienic facilities in places attractive to tourists were brought into compliance with the requirements, and maintenance costs were subsidized by the state. This year, KZT 21 million was allocated to provide state support measures to 21 objects. The commission gave a positive conclusion to applications for subsidies from 14 entrepreneurs.
