Bulat Utemuratov’s Fund will begin construction of new airport passenger terminal in Kyzylorda
Today Akim of the region Nurlybek Nalibayev met with representatives of the Bulat Utemuratov’s Fund. During the meeting, representatives of the foundation presented the project of the new passenger terminal of Korkyt Ata airport. The estimated cost of the project, which is being implemented by the Verny Capital group, is about 25 million US dollars. Upon completion of construction, the facility will be donated to the communal property of the city.
According to Yerlan Ospanov, General Director of the Verny Capital Group of Companies, it is planned to start construction work in February 2023 and the new terminal will be able to receive the first passengers in September 2024.
"Faithful Capital" has solid experience in the design and construction of socially significant objects and public spaces. The new airport terminal will meet the best world practices and give impetus to the development of the entire region, "said Y. Ospanov.
The total area of the two-story terminal with stained glass facades will be 7,500 square meters. Zones of international and domestic flights will be able to receive 130 and 160 guests, respectively. The terminal provides a telescopic ramp, escalators and elevators, an automated baggage handling system, a transit passenger lounge, and a CIP lounge. The new building will have self-registration counters, prayer rooms, the Duty Free zone, as well as specialized spaces for border and customs officers, phytosanitary and veterinary medicine, sanitary and epidemiological control workers and the linear police department. The construction will use equipment, technologies and design materials of international brands.

The project of the updated passenger airport meets the current standards of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Its author is the Turkish project company GMW Mimarlic, which has 20 years of experience in the design of airports in the Netherlands, Russia, Turkey and the Persian Gulf countries.
