Guardsman Prevents Tragedy: Saves Woman in Almaty

An officer of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Captain Amangali Yemenov, prevented a tragedy by saving a woman who attempted to jump from the fourth floor of a residential building.

The incident occurred on March 16, 2025, at approximately 1:30 PM in one of Almaty's apartment buildings. The serviceman happened to be at the scene when he noticed a crowd of people anxiously looking up. Police officers were already present, trying to persuade the woman to step back from the edge.

Among the eyewitnesses were Captain Ädilet Äbilmäzhinov, a serviceman of the Ministry of Defense’s Almaty Regional Garrison, and Captain Amangali Yemenov, an officer of the National Guard.

Using a rope, Captain Yemenov descended from the upper floor and entered the apartment through a neighboring window. He then moved into the living room, rushed to the woman, and pulled her to safety. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the serviceman and the police, a tragedy was averted.

Medical professionals who arrived at the scene provided the woman with necessary assistance, while the relevant authorities are currently investigating the circumstances of the incident.
