National Guard Servicemen Presented an Unexpected Gift to Astana Women

As part of the Nauryz celebration decade, March 17 is observed as the Day of Culture and National Traditions. To promote the cultural heritage and customs of the people among society and youth, servicemen of the National Guard presented women with a festive gift known as Selt Etkizer.

On the eve of Nauryz Meyramy, young women traditionally prepared a special dish called Uiyky Ashar ("awakening from sleep") for men. This dish was believed to invigorate, restore strength, and boost energy. In return, men presented them with gifts and jewelry, known as Selt Etkizer, symbolizing excitement and admiration.

The National Guard soldiers delighted women with elegant jewelry featuring national ornaments. The unexpected gifts, in the form of traditional rings and bracelets, brought genuine joy to mothers, young women, and even little girls.

- It is important for us that young people do not lose their national identity. I thank the National Guard for promoting our people's values! Your gift is wonderful, and despite the cold weather, it warmed my heart, - shared Astana resident Gulmira Asylbekkyzy.

National culture, like the strong roots of an ancient tree, must remain unchanged. The servicemen firmly believe that preserving culture and national traditions will be an invaluable spiritual legacy for future generations.
