The outgoing year proved to be productive not only for the country as a whole, but also for the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In ensuring state security and maintaining public order, servicemen of the National Guard honorably fulfilled the tasks entrusted to them.
In 2025, about fourteen thousand young soldiers were conscripted into the law enforcement forces. They took the Military Oath and chose the path of faithful service to the Motherland. For each recruit, this year became a school of discipline, responsibility, and personal growth as a true defender of the country. More than 1,300 soldiers received educational grants for exemplary service and a high level of discipline—clear evidence that military service goes hand in hand with personal development.
In addition, a number of servicemen of the National Guard are undergoing training at foreign military educational institutions. More than 150 guardsmen studying in Russia, Turkey, and China are gaining knowledge and professional skills that will contribute to strengthening the potential of the Armed Forces in the future.
Over the past year, systematic efforts were made to strengthen the material and technical base of the National Guard. Modernization of military infrastructure remains one of the key tools for creating comfortable conditions for daily service and enhancing combat readiness. Cadets of the National Guard Academy and personnel of military unit 5510 in Kokshetau were accommodated in new modern barracks. Construction of military towns and barracks is also ongoing in Kyzylorda, Almaty, Turkistan, Zhezkazgan, as well as in the cities of Uralsk and Atyrau. These facilities improve living conditions for servicemen and raise the combat readiness of units to a new level.
Positive changes were also observed in technical equipment. The National Guard aviation base is being replenished with new equipment, increasing personnel mobility and operational effectiveness in carrying out special tasks. New service vehicles were delivered to military units stationed in Astana, Almaty, Turkistan, and Karaganda. Work to equip units with armored vehicles and modern automotive equipment will continue.
However, the service of guardsmen is not limited to military training alone. In spring, during floods in several regions of the country, servicemen of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were on the front line of emergency response. They actively participated in rescue operations, assisted local residents, and earned sincere gratitude from the population. This is a vivid example that the National Guard serves the interests of the country in peacetime as well.
In daily service, servicemen provide round-the-clock protection of strategically important state facilities and ensure the security of institutions of the penitentiary system. Together with police officers, they maintain public order on streets and in public places, ensuring compliance with the law. Thanks to this work, residents and guests of cities feel safe. Soldiers help lost children find their parents, return lost property to its owners, and at times risk their own lives to save others. Cases of preventing suicide attempts clearly demonstrate the selflessness and courage of the guardsmen.
One of the significant events strengthening the authority of the armed forces was the Military Parade dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory. National Guard formations and military equipment demonstrated a high level of training during the ceremonial march. The precise step and coordinated movements of personnel symbolized discipline and professionalism, leaving a strong impression on spectators.
Throughout the year, various exercises and tactical training sessions were conducted to improve combat readiness. Training and methodological assemblies for deputy commanders were organized, enhancing leadership skills and professional experience of officers. Within the framework of special exercises “Naiza–Antiterror,” “Ört,” and “Karasora,” personnel practiced readiness to act in emergency situations and during complex operations.
Special attention should be given to the achievements of special purpose units. Fighters of the “Bürkit” special unit of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan достойно represented the country on the international stage, confirming their high professionalism. Successful performances at prestigious international competitions indicate that the training of Kazakhstan’s special units meets global standards. Throughout the year, special units participated in thousands of operations to suppress illegal activities and neutralize criminal groups, making a significant contribution to public security.
An important area of activity was the introduction of modern technologies. Starting next year, military units plan to launch training courses for unmanned aerial vehicle operators, which will strengthen reconnaissance capabilities and security measures. This is a significant step toward forming a force capable of effectively responding to modern challenges and countering threats.
Special attention was also paid to the social conditions of personnel. The Main Command of the National Guard visited military units to familiarize themselves with service and living conditions. The quality of meals in mess halls was improved, and national cuisine dishes were included in daily menus. These initiatives became part of comprehensive efforts to strengthen the moral and psychological well-being of servicemen.
In addition, guardsmen achieved high results in sports and the arts. Victories and creative accomplishments of servicemen contributed to enhancing the image of the armed forces and strengthening unit morale. All this confirms that the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan is not only a security force, but also a united, well-rounded military collective with high moral potential.
Summing up, the past year became both challenging and successful for the law enforcement forces. New goals and achievements lie ahead. Under any circumstances, the National Guard will continue to confidently fulfill its responsible mission of ensuring national stability and public security. Serving the Motherland remains the primary duty and honorable obligation of every serviceman.
