Today, Almaty’s Central Stadium hosts one of the most anticipated matches of the Champions League — a face-off between FC Kairat Almaty and the legendary Real Madrid. The stadium is expected to be filled to capacity, with not only Kazakh fans but also numerous international supporters in attendance.
To ensure peace and safety both inside the arena and in its surrounding areas, more than 1,000 servicemen of military unit 5571 of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan have been deployed.
Among those safeguarding public order are Privates Yerzhan Zharkov and Ruslan Tleukabyl.
Yerzhan Zharkov, a native of Aktau, speaks five foreign languages: Kazakh, Russian, English, Spanish, and French. He patrols the streets of Almaty daily, assisting residents and tourists by promptly responding to their requests.
Ruslan Tleukabyl, conscripted from Konaev, is also a polyglot — fluent in Kazakh, Russian, English, German, and Japanese. His ability to communicate with foreign nationals is particularly valuable during major international events.
Both servicemen have already proven themselves as disciplined and responsible Guardsmen. Their language skills help strengthen trust among foreign citizens and increase the effectiveness of service.
“Football brings people from all over the world together. Our task is to make sure that fans are united only by the game. We must ensure that they feel safe and secure,” said Private Ruslan Tleukabyl.
Thanks to Guardsmen like Yerzhan Zharkov and Ruslan Tleukabyl, National Guard patrols remain a reliable safeguard of law and order, protecting the streets of Almaty while also enhancing Kazakhstan’s image as a hospitable and safe country.
