An unexpected musical gift for passengers at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport was the performance by the male choir of the Song and Dance Ensemble of the National Guard of Kazakhstan, Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Right in the waiting hall, the artists performed the famous song by Abai Kunanbayev, “Közımnıń qarasy”. This way, they marked the 180th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet, educator, and composer, offering airport guests the atmosphere of national color and a warm introduction to Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage.
“It was important for us that this song be heard not only in a concert hall but also in a place where people from different countries and cultures cross paths every day. This is our way of telling the world about Kazakhstan and paying tribute to Abai,” — shared choir member Bauyrzhan Altynbekov.
The performance received an enthusiastic response from listeners: many stopped to enjoy the melody, recorded the performance on their phones, and applauded the artists.
