Parents of National Guard Hero Aibat Amanov Meet with Service Members

At military unit 5573 of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, stationed in Astana, a meeting was held with the parents of Aibat Amanov — Yerbol Amanuly and Gulnaz Alkenkyzy. Their son heroically died in the line of duty during the January events.

The meeting began with a moment of silence in memory of the fallen service members. Then the hero’s father spoke:

“Our son spent a year preparing for service on his own. He joined the army voluntarily. He dreamed of becoming an officer. But merciless death took our son, so full of life, far too early. He fell while defending his Motherland. One cannot go against fate… The most important thing is that such tragedies never happen again and that every soldier returns home alive and healthy. May peace and tranquility reign in our country,” said Yerbol Amanuly.

Aibat Amanov’s mother also addressed the personnel:

“Every time I see a soldier of the National Guard, it feels as if I see my son. Do not upset your parents who pray for your well-being. Call your mothers more often when you have the chance. My Aibat was also a soldier like you, he was faithful to his oath. He often spoiled me, called me. The last time we spoke was on New Year’s Day… That was the last time I heard my son’s voice,” shared Gulnaz Alkenkyzy.

As part of the event, a documentary film about the heroic path of Aibat Amanov was shown.

“The soldiers of the National Guard always demonstrate examples of courage and loyalty to the Motherland. Your son was one of those who gave his life for his country. He was a true warrior, devoted to his oath. We thank you and bow our heads for raising such a son,” said Lieutenant Colonel Aslan Orazalin, Deputy Unit Commander for Educational and Social-Legal Work.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the soldiers thanked the honored guests. The unit commander, Colonel Zhandar Ashirbekov, gave the hero’s parents a tour of the facilities and territory of the military unit.
