A graduation ceremony for the 25th class of young officers was held at the National Guard Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Petropavlovsk. This year, nearly 200 graduates of the military university have joined Kazakhstan’s law enforcement ranks, including four cadets from the Republic of Tajikistan, who studied under intergovernmental agreements.
The event was attended by the leadership of the National Guard, faculty members, honored guests, and the graduates’ families and loved ones.
Speaking to the graduates, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs – Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, Major General Ansagan Baltabekov, emphasized that today’s young officers will be serving in challenging conditions that demand not only professional knowledge, but also personal valor, loyalty to the oath, and unwavering dedication to their homeland.
– The National Guard is entrusted with vital tasks and bears immense responsibility. You must be ready to fulfill your military duty with integrity and full commitment. Every Guardsman is a pillar of the state and a shield for the people. Be brave, be worthy, and remain faithful to your military oath! – stressed Major General Baltabekov.
It’s worth noting that several distinguished graduates — Dias Bedelbay, Adilet Shalkaruly, Azamat Zulkarnaev, Duman Aitkenov, and Amir Toleukhanov — received their officer insignia on June 4, Kazakhstan’s Day of State Symbols, from the President of the Republic and Supreme Commander-in-Chief Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and Minister of Internal Affairs, Police Lieutenant General Yerzhan Sadenov.
The National Guard Academy is one of Kazakhstan’s key military educational institutions, training highly qualified personnel for law enforcement agencies. The academic process is delivered across ten departments in eight areas of specialization.
The Academy also houses a Faculty of Postgraduate and Continuing Education, where officers and contract service members from both the National Guard and other law enforcement agencies regularly undergo retraining.
This year, 12 service members were awarded master's degrees by the State Attestation Commission. They will apply their knowledge in practice, reinforcing the scientific, analytical, and managerial capabilities of the internal security forces.
The official ceremony concluded with a traditional officer’s waltz. A heartwarming moment followed — now a symbolic tradition at the Academy’s graduations — when young lieutenant Akniyet Duisen proposed to his beloved right on the parade ground. The romantic gesture drew a wave of applause and heartfelt support from fellow service members and guests.
Since its founding, the Academy has trained over 4,000 qualified officers who have made a significant contribution to national security.
