Ministry of Finance tightens control: Payments on construction contracts are under remote supervision

The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan has strengthened desk control in the field of public procurement to prevent unjustified payments of budget funds and increase the responsibility of its participants. Additional risk profiles have been introduced, ensuring online control over the proper fulfillment of obligations under contracts for construction and installation works.

In this regard, the functionality of desk control of work completion certificates in the construction sector, carried out prior to payments and it is being launched in pilot mode.

In case of violations related to the lack of confirmation of completed work, the Committee of Internal State Audit will issue mandatory notifications for their rectification.

The implementation of these measures will allow for monitoring the progress of contractual obligations in a proactive format.
