Following a preliminary review, the Constitutional Court has accepted for consideration a citizen's request to examine the constitutionality of the second part of paragraph 44 of the Rules for the Carriage of Passengers, Baggage, Cargo Baggage, and Postal Shipments by Railway Transport, approved by Order No. 545 of the Minister for Investments and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan on April 30, 2015.
According to this provision, individuals with disabilities who have purchased discounted tickets are required to present a disability document or a supporting medical certificate when boarding a train.
The applicant argues that the contested provision places individuals with disabilities in an unequal position compared to other passengers when boarding a train.
Information on the progress and results of the constitutional review will be published on the official website and Telegram channel of the Constitutional Court.
