The Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions concluded a memorandum with the Association of Iberoamerican Countries

Within the framework of the 6th Congress, a Memorandum of Interregional Cooperation of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions and the Ibero-American Conference of Constitutional Justice (CIJC).

On behalf of the Iberoamerican Conference of Constitutional Justice, the Memorandum was signed by Mr. Enrique Arnaldo Alcubilla, President of the Conference and Judge of the Constitutional Court of Spain. On behalf of the Asian Association, the Memorandum was signed by Mr. Nakharin Meektreyrat, President of the Constitutional Court of the Kingdom of Thailand.

The interregional Memorandum aims to promote judicial and legal cooperation between the two organizations through the exchange of experience and information on constitutional review practices to protect human rights, strengthen democracy and promote the rule of constitutional law. The Association of Asian Nations was established 12 years ago and today its membership includes constitutional courts and equivalent institutions from 21 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including a group of Eurasian countries and Kazakhstan.

A similar memorandum on interregional cooperation is planned to be concluded with the Association of African Countries in Zimbabwe in the fall of 2025.
