Judges and analysts of the Constitutional Court took part in the International Scientific and Practical Conference on "The Constitution and Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the context of modernization of social processes: dialogue and progressive development". The conference was held at the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilev.
Dialogue platform brought together representatives of state and law enforcement agencies, members of Parliament, representatives of scientific and educational institutions and organizations, as well as leading domestic and foreign academic experts.
Deputy Chairman of the Constitutional Court Bakyt Nurmukhanov presented to the conference participants the results of the work of the Constitutional Court in 2023. He told about 35 final decisions adopted as a result of the constitutional review. At present, taking into account two decisions of the Constitutional Court, the Parliament has adopted amendments to the laws, on the basis of five final decisions the Government has already submitted legislative initiatives to the Majilis of the Parliament. The steps taken clearly confirm that the reconstituted body of constitutional control is gradually becoming an important institution of the system of checks and balances, as well as an additional tool for the protection of rights for Kazakh citizens.
